Reimagining Spokane’s Iconic Pavilion

Spokane’s iconic U.S. Pavilion, long part of the city’s topography, is being reimagined as a “wonderfully absurd” extension of the park’s landscape that welcomes both passive park space and a venue for performance and events. Removing dated and tired structures from the pavilion highlights the exceptional and unique cable structure, while new elevated walkways and a restoration of one of the county’s first green roofs forge a strong physical and visual connection to the park, river and falls. The cable net structure is lightly modified with reflection panels to strengthen its daytime presence and reflect evolving light patterns at night. Our awesome teammates are Garco Construction, NAC Architecture, and Mark Fornes/THEVERYMANY.
