To enhance the waterfront experience for guests of the Inn, we created a layer of planting between the cottages and the existing boardwalk. The planting, composed of northwest natives and other adapted plants from the Pacific Rim, softens the building mass and offers a tranquil backdrop for whale watchers and other beachcombers. Existing access to the beach was enhanced through restoration of the boardwalk, and addition of understated path lighting, and seasonally planted urns.
